We are thrilled to announce that the German Research Foundation (DFG) has confirmed the continuation of 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝟭𝟰𝟴𝟳 - "𝗜𝗿𝗼𝗻, 𝘂𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱!" for a second funding period, running from July 2026 through the end of 2029.
This renewal recognizes the outstanding scientific achievements of all participating groups during the first funding period and underlines the high relevance of the consortium’s research. The SFB aims to further advance iron-based materials as sustainable and widely available alternatives to critical and scarce raw materials.
Our professorship is proud to contribute to this collaborative effort through the subproject C06: “Influence of the Coordination and Surrounding of Iron-Based Materials on Electrochemical Stability.” In this project, we investigate how the local atomic environment and coordination chemistry of iron influence electrochemical properties, with the goal of enabling more stable and efficient materials for future applications.
